Terms of Use

Effective 28 July 2026 · terms version 1.2-2026-07-28 · read with the Privacy Policy

The short version: the Platform is free and open; the data is information, not advice; Rigo Studio processes your images on your own device; you own your work; be honest about who you are; do not abuse the service; and Zambian law governs. The long version below is what binds us both.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and Ericolas Technologies Limited of Lusaka, Zambia ("Agririgo", "we", "us") governing your use of the Agririgo website, the Agririgo Data Engine API, Rigo Studio and every related service (together, the "Platform").

By accessing the Platform, creating an account, or ticking the acceptance box at sign-up, you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept them, you must not use the Platform. Use of Rigo Studio is strictly conditional on holding an account and accepting the current version of these terms; when the terms change materially, you will be asked to re-accept before continuing.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or use the Platform under the supervision of a parent, guardian or teacher who accepts these terms on your behalf.

You agree to provide accurate profile information (name, role, country, organisation and purpose of use) and to keep it current. We collect this to understand who uses the Platform, to secure it, and to comply with applicable law.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for everything done under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, share credentials, or breach these terms.

3. The services, plainly described

The open data pages and API republish harmonized agricultural statistics compiled from official and public sources, each response labelled with its confidence level (official, compiled or model-estimate).

Rigo Studio is an on-device analysis and annotation workspace: images you load are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly share them. Your profile and usage events (such as sign-ins, number of images processed and exports made) are stored in our database.

Team Workspaces are an opt-in collaboration feature. When you upload an image, labels or a snapshot to a Team Project, that content is stored in our cloud (hosted in the European Union) and becomes visible to every member of that team. Only share content you have the right to share; whoever holds the team invite code can join the team.

RigoTrace crop passports are public by design: publishing one places its contents, and the QR that links to it, in the open for any buyer or consumer to read. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the traceability data you publish, including input, certification and food-safety claims; Agririgo verifies only the computation of an analysis stamp, never third-party claims, and a passport is not a food-safety certificate.

Drone flight operations, agronomy consulting and any field services are separate engagements under separate written agreements; nothing on the Platform constitutes an offer of such services.

4. Data is information, not advice

THE PLATFORM PROVIDES INFORMATION, NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. Figures may be estimates, may contain errors, may lag events, and may be revised by their original sources. Vegetation indices and risk scores are screening tools with stated uncertainty, not diagnoses.

You must not treat Platform outputs as a substitute for professional agronomic, veterinary, financial, insurance, legal or investment advice. Planting, purchasing, lending, insuring and trading decisions made in reliance on the Platform are made entirely at your own risk. Verify material figures against the cited primary source before acting on them.

5. Your content and licences

You retain full ownership of images you process and annotations you create in Rigo Studio. Content stays on your device unless you upload it to a Team Workspace; for team content you grant us a limited licence to store, process and serve it to your team members, which is the entire purpose of the feature. Deleting the content or the team ends that licence apart from short-lived backups.

Platform datasets are licensed to you under Creative Commons BY 4.0: use them freely, including commercially, with attribution to "Agririgo Data Engine" and the underlying source named in each response.

You may not represent Agririgo datasets, wholesale and unmodified, as your own product, and you may not remove source or confidence labelling when redistributing.

The Community repository is opt-in and public by design: when you publish a post as "public", its title, description, summary statistics, your display name and role, and any resulting ratings and comments become visible to any visitor of the Platform, including people without an account. Raw imagery is never included in a Community post regardless of visibility. You may switch a post back to private or delete it at any time, which removes it from the public feed; cached or previously downloaded copies may persist elsewhere and are outside our control.

Comments and ratings you leave on other users' public posts are themselves public and attributed to your name and role. Be as professional there as you would in any published forum.

RigoTrace crop passports are public by design once published: batch details, photos, certifications, quality test results, chain of custody, your organisation profile, and any branded story you attach are shown to anyone who scans the code or visits its page. Include only what belongs on a public label. Passport "trust status" (In Review, Verified, Export Ready) is self-declared by you; we do not independently audit certifications, lab results, or the trust status itself, and display it exactly as you set it.

A passport's branded story may include a written description, photos, and hashtags, and at most one linked video, which must be hosted on TikTok (tiktok.com); links to other video platforms are not accepted. If you include a description or hashtags, they must include #agririgo. We may remove a story, a passport, or any Community content, in whole or in part, without prior notice, if it breaches this policy, applicable law, a third party's rights, or is reasonably judged to misrepresent origin, certification or quality claims. Repeated breaches may result in suspension of your account.

We log anonymous scan events for each passport you publish (approximate country and city derived from network geolocation, coarse device type, and a same-day salted hash used only to approximate repeat visits) so you can see analytics for your own passports. We do not store the scanning visitor's name, precise location, or IP address, and this data is visible only to the passport's owner.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; (b) probe, overload, disrupt or circumvent security or rate limits; (c) scrape at volumes that degrade service for others when the API offers the same data; (d) upload or process content you have no right to use, or content that is unlawful; (e) misrepresent your identity, affiliation or role; (f) use the Platform to train systems designed to deceive or harm; or (g) resell access to the Platform itself.

We may throttle, suspend or ban usage that we reasonably believe breaches this section, with or without notice.

7. Intellectual property

The Platform's software, design, text, trade names and marks, including Agririgo, Rigo Studio, Rigo Vision, ADRI (Agririgo Drought Risk Index), RGSI (RigoGreen Stress Index), HCB and SML, are the property of Ericolas Technologies Limited or its licensors. No licence to them is granted except as expressly stated. Underlying public statistics remain the property of their respective publishers.

Proprietary systems and processes developed by Agririgo, including RigoTrace (the crop passport and chain-of-custody data model), RigoContinuity (the independent, separately-hosted passport lookup service that remains reachable if the primary Platform is unavailable), RigoShield (the duplicate and cloned-label scan-conflict detection heuristic), and the QR batch approval and unit-serialisation workflow within Rigo Studio, are original trade secrets and proprietary technology of Ericolas Technologies Limited, whether or not separately labelled as such elsewhere on the Platform. These names identify Agririgo-specific systems and are used here to put you on notice of what is proprietary; nothing in this clause represents that any system has been granted a patent, registered design, or other government-issued title, and Agririgo makes no such claim.

You must not reverse-engineer, decompile, replicate, or attempt to derive the underlying method of, any proprietary system named above; represent a copy or clone of any such system as your own or as affiliated with Agririgo; or use Agririgo's proprietary methods, workflows, or branding to build a competing product or service. This restriction applies regardless of whether you accessed the system as a registered user, a passport-scanning member of the public, or otherwise, and survives termination of your account.

8. Availability and changes

The Platform is provided free of charge at this stage and "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". We may modify, suspend or discontinue any feature at any time. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and scheduled data refreshes may be delayed by their upstream sources.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. NO INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE PLATFORM CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HERE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ERICOLAS TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST HARVESTS, LOST DATA OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE PLATFORM IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD 100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; where they apply, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ericolas Technologies Limited from claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or your misuse of the Platform or its data.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time; on request we will delete your profile as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk to the Platform or its users, or legal necessity. Sections 4, 5, 7 and 9 to 14 survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lusaka, Zambia, after a good-faith attempt at amicable resolution. Nothing here deprives you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the Platform evolves. Material changes are announced on the Platform and require re-acceptance before continued use of Rigo Studio. The version identifier below tells you exactly which terms you accepted.
